The 68 MOA speed ring with a 1 MOA dot enables fast target acquisition and provides three aiming points, calibrated for .223 Cal. 62 Gr., 2,900 Vel. Other calibers can be used by determining the ranges. With shotguns, the ring approximates shot patterns, which vary based on choke and shell type.

HWS® holographic optics let you view the reticle and target simultaneously for quicker, more intuitive target acquisition.

 

The HWS® continues to perform with precision even when the window is damaged or obscured, proving its reliability in the most demanding environments.

"So much innovation and still nothing else compares to Eotech holographic sights! Very happy with the 518, bringing the classic M4A1 look with updated Eotech technology. The AA battery operates as well as the CR123 option. I also enjoy the elevation of the 518 and integration with any mount that works with the EXPS series"

518 works for me

"I decided to go with the 518 after I rented a gun at my local range equipped with an EOTECH. Let's face it, most of us are not going out with NODs/thermals, etc. I've also lost my excitement for CR123 batteries. This sight offers a very sturdy detachable mount and was a breeze to sight-in. Optics are very clear and easy to use quickly when moving from target to target. AA battery models are supposed to last longer than the 123's and are easy to get anywhere. What's not to like?"

Solid, reliable HWS, pairs with a magnifier incredibly well.

"My initial impression is that this a very sturdy, reliable site. Mounting hardware should take more abuse than I will ever give it. Battery access is nice, providing a balance between battery life and ease of use. When paired with a G33 magnifier this should be an incredible combo for CQB. Reticle is clear when magnified, a bit fuzzy to my eye without the G33. Easily adjusted brightness is prefect for range days and fall evenings when the sun drops quickly. My first Eotech, probably won't be my last!"
